1927 –  2020

AUGUST 28, 1927 – SEPTEMBER 18, 2020

Ruth Elizabeth Hermann 93 of Rogers, AR passed away peacefully Friday September 18, 2020 with her daughter Paula and son Chris at her side.  She was born in Lenexa, Kansas August 28,1927 to Walter and Elsie (Boehm) Scherman.  Ruth met her future husband, Paul William Hermann, at a church picnic.  They were married July 7, 1946 two weeks after Paul’s discharge from the U.S. Navy and had a loving sixty-six year marriage until Paul’s death in 2012.

Together, Ruth and Paul raised eight children.   As a homemaker, Ruth tended to her children, and was an excellent cook and seamstress; always putting her children’s needs over her own.  She was known for her legendary pies, cinnamon rolls, pizza, and ice cream.  She enjoyed knitting afghans and sweaters for her children and grandchildren.

Paul and Ruth lived their faith every day as devout Roman Catholics.  Ruth taught religious education classes and was a member of the Women’s Altar Society.  She made sure her children attended weekly mass reinforcing her faith to them.  Paul and Ruth became members of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Paul and Ruth lived in Kansas City, Kansas before moving in 1968 to Eldon, Missouri where they purchased a grocery store and named it Paul’s Supermarket.  They lived at Lake of the Ozarks before retiring to Naples, Florida.  In 2016 Ruth moved to Rogers, Arkansas and lived with her daughter Paula and son in-law Allan.
