Diocese of Jefferson City Tuesday, April 26, 2022

Call to Order:

Kathy Cotter called the 5:05 pm meeting to order with Deacon Poulter, Marilee Poulter, Lloyd Noland, Kari Brauman, Carol Branson, Carolyn Lorraine, Debbie Noland and Mary Scarlett in attendance.

Opening Prayer:

Mary Scarlett opened the meeting with a prayer.

Hospitality:

​Deacon Paul Poulter provided refreshments.

Minutes of the Last Meeting:

​Marilee Poulter published meeting notes from March 27th on the parish website.

Worship Committee Leadership: (Cheri Helms)

The Worship Commission was asked to give additions to budget to church office so the budget can be adjusted.  It was suggested that a lightweight tall ladder be purchased to hang items in the church such as banners and cloths over statues and crucifix.

Should a QR code be provided in the pews for visitors to donate to the parish.

Ministry of Art and Environment: (Kathy Cotter)

​Maintaining Easter flowers thru Pentecost Sunday.

More bottles of holy water and more palms are needed for next year as many more than expected were taken this year.

Ministry of Hospitality: (vacant)

Head Usher responsibilities include the following – insure that each door has an Usher – if something happens inform Mass Coordinator – secure donations after Mass – training of new Ushers – assign someone to bring up the gifts (basket always comes first).

Ministry of Reader: (Carolyn Lorraine)

Carolyn will be the Contact for new people interested in serving as Lectors. Deacons will train new Lectors.

​Lectors should bow to Altar before and after readings.

Lectors should stay at ambo after reading intentions and face Altar until Fr. Medina has finished his prayer.

Ministry of Music and Song: (Steve Jannetti)

​Unable to attend the meeting.​

Ministry of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: (Mary Scarlett)

​Possibility of four Eucharistic Ministers for center aisle.

Possibility of a few hosts in a ciborium for Mass Coordinator to take to the back of the church for people unable to walk to the Altar to receive Communion.

Should side Eucharistic Ministers help center aisle after they are finished distributing to the North/South wings.

Sacristan and Ministry of Mass Coordinator: (Annette Miller, Tony Kirn)

​Annette and Tony were both unable to attend the meeting.

​Quantity of hosts was getting low, so two months usage of hosts were ordered.

Rite of Initiation and the Sacraments: (Deacon Paul)

In the late spring or early summer, RCIA members that have completed the program will be brought into the church.

​RCIA members have been reviewing the Commandments and discussing sin.

​Possible program about Mary in October.

​Validation of Mary of May 5th.

Prayer and Devotions: (Debbie Noland)

It is the five-year anniversary for PPI program.  Many parishioners have sent cards of thanks for our prayers.

Not enough people have made a commitment to attend Adoration to merit extending Adoration hours to 4:00pm. At this time Adoration is from 8:30 to 2:00.

There will be a notice in the Sunday bulletin to recruit people for Adoration.

Possible prayer cards or bookmark for Mothers/Fathers on Mother’s/Father’s Day.

Altar Servers: (vacant)

​Confirmation students possibly perform church service hours and serve as Altar Servers.

Parish Digital Communications: (Kari Brauman)

It has been noticed that anytime there is something special going on at Mass and Fr. Medina steps away from the Altar, a wireless microphone is needed so that the sounds goes thru on the streamed Mass.

Liturgical Formation of the Assembly(Fr. Medina)

​Unable to attend the meeting.

​Possible first communicant crown the statue of Mary.

Next meeting:

Next meeting May 24th.

Deacon Paul will be the prayer Leader.

Lorraine Harrison will provide hospitality items.

Closing Prayer

Mary Scarlett prayed a closing prayer.
