CENTERING PRAYER INFORMATION SESSION

Do you seek the still, small voice within you?  Join us to explore the meaning of Psalm 46, “Be still and know that I am God.”  An introduction to Centering Prayer, sometimes called the prayer of stillness or silence, will be presented by Contemplative Outreach of Central Missouri (COCEMO) on Thursday, September 3. The presentation and question and answer session will start at 9:30 AM and will conclude within an hour.  The presentation will take place through the Zoom teleconferencing system and feature Jim Penfold and Craig Ward from COCEMO. You will be able to participate at home from your own computing device or by watching the presentation in the Fellowship Hall (following health and hygiene protocols). This initial information session will allow you to learn more about Centering Prayer in preparation for the three-session workshop we are hosting on the successive Thursdays in September through Zoom teleconference.

The initial session will allow us to work out the details of holding a virtual workshop, give the presenters an opportunity to get to know us, answer our questions, and plan ahead for the subsequent workshop they will present. The Centering Prayer Workshop will take place over a period of three Thursday mornings (September 10, 17, and 24) beginning at 9:30 AM and lasting for about an hour. If you would like to participate email the parish office (ourladylake@sbcglobal.net) to request a Zoom meeting invitation. You also can participate by coming to Church and into the Fellowship Hall where the conference will be streamed live for those who might not be able to connect at home. This conference is brought to you by the Praise, Petition, and Intercession Ministry of the Worship Commission, Debbie Noland, coordinator.
