Adult Faith Formation:  Barb

  • Understanding Divine Mercy study – Six people doing study.
  • Pilgrimages – Discussion held and Barb investigating. Contact made with St. Pat’s in Laurie about joining them for Divine Mercy Sunday celebration. Michele will send Barb contact to coordinate.

Family Life: Lynne Green

  • Wedding April 26 with rehearsal on April 25 at 5:00
  • Wedding on May 3 

Formed.org and Library:  Kelly

  • Kelly ordering 4 books a month for library, especially ones for children. Sign up weekend discussed. May 25 Donut Sunday suggested.

Renewal Movement: Still need coordinator

  • Welcome – Linda Adams is going to lead Welcome Continuation Team in hosting our Fall Welcome Weekend Oct. 18 and 19. Thank you Linda!!! The 2025 Welcome Team has been meeting and preparing witness talks. 
  • Advent by Candlelight – Karen Blevins 
  • Supper with the Saints – Kelly Discussion held on having a monthly pot luck get together for parishioners using saints of the month for food ideas. A Saturday in June will be starting point. 
  • Women’s Ministry – Karen Blevins
    • Board for Events going up in Fellowship
    • May 7  Core Team Meeting at Our Lady of the Lake. All welcome
    • Other upcoming events:
      • The women’s diocesan spring retreat is set for April 5 in Rhineland at Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows.  You can register now; it is only $15. 
      • The 66th Annual Catholic’s Women’s Spring Assembly is April 25-26 in Springfield.
      • The School of Identity: a 2 day weekend school is scheduled for the same weekend in St. Louis. 
      • The four books for use as for a book study are on the women’s ministry page.
      • The Stewardship Conference is Aug. 9.
      • Healing from Divorce or Separation is Aug. 22-24.
      • Women’s Ladies Night Out and Fall retreat is Oct. 17-18.

New Evangelization:  Linda B. 

  • Consecration of St. Joseph group is complete.
  • New group on 33 Days to Eucharistic Glory discussion held. Start date will be May 12(Mondays at 6 pm)  with consecration on June 22, Corpus Christi Sunday

Stewardship:  Linda B.

  • Needing FFF names and addresses.  Michele will provide 

Parish Religious Education Director Report:  Michele

  • Four more classes. Thank you notes from Scholarship recipients passed around.
  • Family Reconciliation was well attended despite the weather.
  • First Communion scheduled for May 4 and Confirmation scheduled for May 21
  • Streaming Masses not available now as issue with motherboard. New part ordered 
  • Karen Blevins – Youth Group. Group is doing a trash cleanup activity. 

OCIA and Catechesis:  Michele

  • We are getting down to the wire.
  • We will have the following Elect: Brynlee Busen, Saylah Busen, Adam Ilgen, and Nicol O’Sullivan receiving the Sacraments of Initiation at Easter Vigil.
  • The following Candidates: Sydney Hogue and Peter McGrath; the following Confirmandi: Porter Gilchrist and Laura Penner

Parish Council Report:  Linda A 

  • Pastoral Plan due June 1

Other:  Michele – asked Deacon Paul if he would co-chair the Education Commission. He agreed.

Next Meeting Date: Tuesday, May 6 at 5:00 in the Library.

Coordinators for Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Order of Christian Initiation:  The preparation for initiation into the Church for adults and children of catechetical age will be a special ministry of the commission, ensuring that there are catechists and sponsors to accompany the catechumens on the way to full initiation in to the sacramental life of the Church. __Michele Haggerty_
  2. Christ Renews His Parish and Renewal Movements:  The coordinator for renewal programs identifies, introduces and supervises the various renewal programs that are available to parishioners. Vacant
  3. Marriage Preparation, Baptism of Infants and Formation for Family Life:  The coordinator for marriage preparation, infant baptism and formation for family life serves a foundational role in building up the domestic church in the home.  _Lynne Green_
  4. K-12 Religion Classes:  The coordinator for the religious education of the youth has one of the most essential roles to play in faith formation. _Michele Haggerty_
  5. Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation:  The coordinator for sacramental preparation is a significant role along with the classroom catechists. The coordinator serves as an advisor, a facilitator and leader especially in ensuring that every person has access to sacramental catechesis at the appropriate time or remediating situations where a sacrament is lacking in the lives of the faithful. _Michele Haggerty_
  6. Adult Faith Formation: The Coordinator for adult faith formation initiates programs that Invite and enable ongoing conversion to Jesus in holiness of life; promote and support active membership in the Christian community; and call and prepare adults to act as disciples in mission to the world.  _Barb Steinman_
  7. The New Evangelization:  The coordinator for the new evangelization seeks out those who have not heard, or have forgotten, ignored or rejected the Christian message. _Linda Bukalski_
  8. Parish Faith Formation Library:  The Church has been and will continue to be a people of The Book. Therefore it is essential that literary, spiritual and catechetical materials be made available for all parishioners of all ages. _Kelly Hamrin_
  9. Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life:  The coordinator for vocations to the priestly and religious life informs, organizes and leads the parish in regard to ensuring that the Lord’s call to pray for more workers in the vineyard is heard by each parishioner.  Vacant
