In the Gospel this weekend, Jesus lets the apostles know that in order to be great, they must be willing to be servants to others or die for ransom of others. For most of us, the best way to be viewed as great in God’s eye is to serve. Seldom is martyrdom something that we are asked to accept.
Remember the Corporal Works of Mercy as ways to be Servant Leaders:
¨ Feed the hungry.
¨ Visit the sick.
¨ Bury the dead.
¨ Give drink to the thirsty.
¨ Shelter the homeless.
¨ Clothe the naked.
¨ Visit the imprisoned.
