Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

   Best wishes to each of you—parishioners and guests alike— for a safe and Happy Labor Day.  This day we celebrate a gift as we remember and unite our personal work into what is important: our communal effort with each other and with God in His creative process in making this planet a better place.  This is how we make a holiday a holy day as we unite our efforts with God’s.  We become mindful to honor and worship God with our whole being and not just with our lips.  When we do this, our efforts become pleasing to God and not just reciting a bunch of words and empty actions.  May this Labor Day be for us a reminder to unite our efforts with each other…and God.
