From the Pastor’s Desk

What is the greatest thing for one to aspire to? To love the Lord with one’s whole being. Every one of us is called to holiness and we achieve holiness by loving, obeying and serving God. Our vocational call to holiness is a most special gift, for in the fulfillment of this Call, we will live and dwell forever in the presence of the Lord. Let us set aside all that prevents us from living holy and wholesome lives and seek to live in the way God calls us to.

This Wednesday, November 1st, is the Solemnity of All Saints, a Holy Day of Obligation. Be mindful that, as it is with the Sunday obligation, it is a most serious sin to deliberately miss Mass on this day. Masses to fulfill the obligation for All Saints will be celebrated in the church on:

  • Tuesday, October 31st at 6:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 1st at 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

In observation of the holy day, the Parish Office will be closed.

This Thursday, November 2nd, is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. Although not a Holy Day of Obligation, many choose to attend Mass on this day to pray for the faithful departed. Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. and the Book of the Names of the Dead will be available from this date through the month of November in the church.

The Women’s Welcome Weekend will be taking place next weekend in our parish. Let us keep the team and the participants in our prayers that their relationship with God will be strengthened and that new friendships will be formed from these days of prayer. ~ Fr. Penn
