Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jesus invites His apostles to a deserted place and rest awhile: in His company and in communion with one another.  The meaning of deserted place is a particular location, removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to have the personal opportunity to find God in the silence and stillness.  John the Baptist did this, baptizing in the desert and living in solitude in order that he could commune with God without the conflict and chaos of the world trying to disturb him and keeping him from experiencing God more closely.

Each of us are to have a deserted place in our hearts to make room for God.  Are you willing to empty yourself of the distractions that keep us away from God?  Make room for Him, to enjoy a peaceful and restful relationship with the One who loves us.
