Fifth Sunday of Easter
Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches. If we produce fruit for the Kingdom, we are faithful disciples of the Lord. If we do not produce fruit, we are worthless and will be thrown into a fire to be burned. The imagery of Jesus in today’s Gospel (John 15: 1-8) is strong yet helps us recognize the responsibility that each one of us has in our Call to discipleship. As His disciples, may we be pleasing to the Lord and produce an abundant harvest for the Kingdom and be found as faithful and fervent servants, worthy of our Calling and taking personal responsibility for the tasks we have been given.
