Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus has authority over all, for He is the “Holy One of God” (Mark 1:24c). As followers of the Lord, we are to open our minds and hearts to all that Jesus requires of us. He will be with us to guide and guard us in all matters of our lives if we allow Him to do so. Sinfulness and selfishness dims for us the workings and the very Presence of God in our lives. However, if we turn away from the ways of the world that will pass away and turn towards God, who is eternal, we will be victorious, despite all the difficulties we will face. Let us turn toward Jesus and follow His way in order that we will be fervent and faithful witnesses to Him in our words and works.
This Friday, February 2nd, is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. The Blessing and Procession with Candles will take place at the beginning of Mass in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome to bring candles for home use to church with you and place them on the table that will be provided in Fellowship Hall. Candles will be provided for the procession, and you are welcome to take these candles home with you following Mass.
