Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
God created us to be free. He did not create us for death or suffering. It was because of falling into sin and temptation that our very (human) nature experiences these things. We are created to be in communion with God and with each other, however, sin causes this communion to be broken so that ultimately, unless we experience the mercy and forgiveness of God, we find ourselves in loneliness and isolation We listen to God’s Word—Jesus—to rise, from death and sin, and so experience the life that only He can bring. May we open our eyes and ears, in fact our whole selves, so that we might respond and experience this new life that Jesus brings.
