Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Our life with God is often referred to as a banquet, luscious and plentiful.  The Lord always provides for us, and, Jesus, the Bread of Life, sustains us on our pilgrim journey to Him.  As in any invitation or relationship, we have the free will to accept or reject our place at the banquet.  The Lord calls us to nourishment, and we can choose whether to be satisfied by Him.  Shall we find our satisfaction with the world’s good or from the Eternal Good, God Himself, who invites us into His company at the Banquet of Life?  May we choose the Good and always seek to be nourished and satisfied by Him.
