ALL PEOPLES who observe the ways of the Lord and act upon them will be welcomed in the Presence of God. God created all people, and all are equal in God’s sight. There is no room for racial prejudice for that is contrary to God’s plan. Today’s gospel reminds us of this as Jesus tests the faith of the woman and those who are observing this action. Do not let prejudice and racism, which is sinful, be a part of your lives, but rather be mindful and rejoice that ALL PEOPLE are created in the image and likeness of God, who is the source of their human dignity and therefore why all should be respected.
As your pastor I wish to remind all of you of the necessity for Mass attendance of both Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. It is a serious sin to deliberately not fulfill your obligation to attend Mass on these days and, if you are a parent, to not bring your children to Mass. This compounds the seriousness of this sin. I am hoping that you were able to attend Mass in another church where the schedule may have been more convenient, but, if you did not, the reception of the Sacrament of Penance is necessary before your next reception of Holy Communion. ~ Fr.
