John Weidler
1943 – 2025
Please join us in praying for the repose of the soul of our brother in Christ, John Weidler, of Osage Beach, Missouri.
John Weidler, age 82, of Lake of the Ozarks, passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2025, doing what he loved most – enjoying the lake.
John was born on August 26, 1943, to the late Ernest and Hedwig Weidler. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a graduate of Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst College. Eleven years ago, he moved to the Lake of the Ozarks to embrace the lake life he so deeply enjoyed.
He was a devoted husband to the late Judy I. Weidler, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. John was also an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, where he found fellowship, faith, and community.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hedwig Weidler; his brother, Ernest Weidler; and his sister, Elizabeth Crosby.
He is lovingly survived by his brother, Ed Weidler; his daughter, Jacqueline Ballard (Jerrod); his son, Jeff Weidler (Tina); his two granddaughters, Jazzmarie Ballard and Jozauna Ballard; and his step-grandson, Michael Massood, who brought great joy to his life.
John was known for his sharp mind and steady hands – a true math whiz and talented carpenter who could build or fix just about anything. He enjoyed traveling with his family and especially cherished spending time with his granddaughters.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his gentle spirit, and the peaceful way he lived his life near the water he so cherished. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him – and in his beloved dog, Ginger.
Friends will be received from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Ozark, Missouri, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 am.
Burial will be on Friday, October 31st at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to Our Lake of Lake Catholic Church.
Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
