I moved to Our Lady of the Lake parish in November 2020 from St Louis where I belonged to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque parish in south county for over 20 years. While a parishioner there, I met many wonderful friends and helped with “The Martha’s” a group that provided a funeral lunch for friends and family of parishioners who died.  I taught PSR for several years and belonged to and helped with the Widow and Widowers organization after my husband died.

I did not know anybody at OLOL, but as I attended 10 o’clock mass, I started to recognize smiling faces.  Last year, after Mass, several ladies asked me if I was attending “Welcome”.  They said it would be a great way to meet ladies of the parish.  Whether you are new to the parish, or have been here for several years, attending the Welcome weekend will bring you closer to Jesus.

I am so happy I signed up!  I met many wonderful ladies over those 2 days and felt “welcome” in my new parish.  I don’t remember many of the names of the attendees but I recognize their faces and we smile and say hello like “old friends”.
