Diocese of Jefferson City Tuesday, November 2, 2021
Call to Order:
Fr. Medina called the 5:00 pm meeting to order with Deacon Paul Poulter, Kathy Cotter, Steve Jannetti, Mary Scarlett, Tony Kirn, Lorraine Harrison, Kari Brauman and Mary Wagemann in attendance.
Opening Prayer:
Fr. Medina opened the meeting with a prayer.
Hospitality:
No refreshments provided.
Minutes of the Last Meeting:

Worship Committee Leadership: (Cheri Helms)
Mary Wagemann led the meeting.
Cheri Helms will assume responsibility of Worship Commission head.
Ministry of Art and Environment: (Kathy Cotter)
New chapel bells were located; smaller chapel bells have a softer sound.
Fall harvest display will be put up weekend of November 6th and 7th.
Attendance was high for November 1st Mass.
Veterans Day Wall in Fellowship Hall is completed.
Last weekend in November church decorations will change over to Advent.
Ministry of Hospitality: (vacant)
Jackie and Robert Hiegert are interested in heading this Ministry.
Tony Kirn will speak with the head of Knights to address the Knights regarding who would want to be an Usher or Greeter.Any Knight interested in serving as an Usher or Greeter would be asked to contact Mary Wagemann and enter their available into MSP. At Knights meeting, it will be announced that the assigned person from the MSP application will be the Usher or Greeter to serve at Mass.
The office personnel will begin to list Servers for the upcoming weekend Masses in the bulletin. There will also be a disclaimer that all Servers should arrive ten minutes before Mass and sign in the book in the Fellowship Hall. Any position will be reassigned by the Mass Coordinator if Server does not sign in at five minutes before scheduled Mass time. Once the Mass Coordinator has reassigned the Servers position, the original Server scheduled will not need to serve at the Mass.
Ministry of Reader: (Carolyn Lorraine)
Unable to attend the meeting.
Ministry of Music and Song: (Steve Jannetti)
Wednesday November 10th for Tazie prayer.
Not all Choir members and Cantors that have not come back to Church since Pandemic.
Bishop wants us to sing Antiphons during Advent and Lent. Sheets will be in pews with words and music.
Ministry of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: (Mary Scarlett)
Communion to hospital, nursing homes and homebound will be put on hold for now. People interested in bringing Communion to the homebound should set up an appointment to speak with Fr. Medina. Homebound Ministers should have a second person with them.
Thirty Eucharistic Ministers were recommissioned at Mass the weekend of 9/18 & 91/9.
Individuals that have not been recommissioned will contact the office.
Anyone whose commission expires by the end of the year and is not recommissioned, will not be scheduled to serve as a Eucharistic Minister beginning at the first of the new year.
Sacristan and Ministry of Mass Coordinator: (Tony Kirn)
Mass Coordinators are still needed for the Sunday 10:00 am and Saturday 5:00 pm Mass. Mass Coordinators need to be a commissioned Eucharistic Minister.
Rite of Initiation and the Sacraments: (Deacon Paul)
RCIA meeting on Thursday mornings.
Prayer and Devotions: (Debbie Noland)
Debbie unable to attend meeting.
Attendance is low for Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. There is a good core of people until 2:00 pm. Perhapswe should end at 2:00 pm with the Divine Mercy. Adoration will be cancelled this Friday November 5th due to a funeral, the following week cancelled due to installation of carpeting and also cancelled on the day after Thanksgiving. The only remaining Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for the month of November will be on November 19th.
Altar Servers: (vacant)
Deacon Paul will be training the Altar Servers.
Altar Servers scheduled will be listed in bulletin.
Change Wednesday children’s Mass from the Chapel into the Church to give future potential Altar Servers a chance to become more familiar with the Mass in Church without full attendance in Church.

New Ministry – possible next step after being an Altar Server.

Day after Christmas Sunday December 26th 10:00am Mass
Solemnity of Mary Friday December 31st 4:00pm Mass (Not an Obligation this year)
Solemnity of Mary Saturday January 1st 10:00am Mass (Not an Obligation this year)
Vigil Mass Saturday January 1st 5:00pm (Vigil Mass for Sunday)
Regular Masses Sunday January 2nd 8:00am and 10:00am
Future training of Ministries will be contemplated
