Parish School of Religion (PSR)

The purpose of the religious education program of Our Lady of the Lake is to communicate the Catholic Faith to adults, youth and children. The program seeks to both form the community of Our Lady of the Lake in the Catholic Faith and to educate these in the knowledge of their Faith.  Parish School of Religion, K through 8, meets every Wednesday evening September through April 8th from 6:45 to 8:00 P.M. in the Religious Education center and in Bestgen Hall.  High school students meet on Sunday from 4:30 to 6 in Bestgen Hall.

Usually children celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist during the second grade.  Students must have attended religious education classes a year prior to celebrating the two sacraments. Children must be prepared to celebrate First Reconciliation before preparation for First Eucharist may begin.Students new to the program must have their Baptismal certificate.

Teens At Home! Capable of Greatness

Enter into Holy Week: Palm Sunday

By Monsignor Makarewicz | April 4, 2020

What a challenge for us this year as Catholics when the celebration that invites the greatest variety of participation from the people is closed to public worship.  The celebration of the Lord’s entrance into Holy Week with the blessing of the palms, the grand procession singing the hosannas, and the moving narration of the Gospel…

If your family has their copy of The Word Among Us, you will see in today’s reading that a little girl, captured from Israel by the King of Aram, was able to tell her master how to rid himself of leprosy! If you don’t have the book from church, look up 2 Kings: 5:1-16 or…

Take a moment

By Linda Adams | March 3, 2020

“I will wait upon the Lord” Sitting in adoration, I asked the Lord for help on finding a topic to write about. Lots of things ran through my head: the rush of life, glories of Spring, getting our family members to Heaven, taking care of our neighbors, dealing with teens,… Then I told myself, “Stop…

Take a moment

By Linda Adams | March 3, 2020

This time of year, I tend to feel like a caged animal. No, I don’t go so far as to pace back and forth. However, working from home full-time, I can sometimes go for days without leaving the house, especially if the weather is bad. I start thinking too much and become more introverted than…

Let’s talk real life here. First, don’t be selfish and irresponsible by not having a durable medical power of attorney.…
