Second Sunday of Advent
As the Advent Season continues, a necessary question is how well we are preparing ourselves for the Comings of Christ in history, mystery and majesty. A good way for us to do this is participation in the days of our Parish Mission. May we remember the importance of this Mission to both prepare and comfort ourselves during these hectic days. May we too remember Who and what is important: Jesus Christ.
As our Parish Mission opens today, I wish to take this opportunity to welcome Father Richard Gielow, C.M. I believe you will enjoy the Mission and grow in your Faith these days as Father Gielow leads us in prayer and reflection these coming days. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Mass will be celebrated in the church at 7:00 p.m. and a reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. I urge and encourage everyone to join us in this Parish Mission.
This Monday evening, prior to the Parish Mission, the Second Graders will be celebrating the Sacrament of Penance for the first time. Let us keep these children in our prayers as they experience the love and mercy of God in this wonderful sacrament.
This Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the church, I will be available for the Sacrament of Penance. I will also be available next Tuesday evening, December 19th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the church.
