The Solemnity of the Epiphany

   From the East and the West, the North and the South, peoples of every land and nation are called and invited to walk in the light of the Lord.  Jesus came into the world to draw all people from the darkness of sin into the light of His life.  This is symbolized in the gospel story of the Magi (Matthew 2: 1-12) as they are drawn to Bethlehem, guided by the Star (God’s light) and offering personal treasures to the newborn King.  May we, on this day, offer ourselves as treasures to God: not gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, but our lives, hearts and minds in service and adoration to God.

   Mark your calendars for the following dates, more information will follow: 2 February, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Blessing of Candles and Procession); 11 February, World Day of the Sick Observed (with the Communal Anointing of the Sick at the 10:00 a.m. Mass); 13 April, Mass of Confirmation at St. Anthony Church at 5:00 p.m., Camdenton); 28 April, Mass of First Communion; 1 May, Mass and May Crowning at 5:30 p.m. (final evening of PSR with a BBQ sponsored by Knights of Columbus).
