Attendees:  Gayle Pleus, Dick and Jeanne Freeman, Teresa Brown, Jan Metz, Don Woods, Dcn Jim Hankins

1.  Opening Prayer and Reflection:  – Dcn Jim said opening prayer. 

2.  Commitment to Mission prayer – All prayed together.

3.  Our Lady of the Lake Parish Directory – Dcn Jim said that this project is basically complete while we distribute the few remaining directories.  Joan Wolf in the front office will be receiving information regarding the MYUCD App that will allow the parish to have the current directory along with providing updates with adding family photos, names, addresses, phone numbers and emails.  More to follow.

4.  Ministry to Families & Ministry to those In Need (Salva vida Outreach) – Dcn Jim reviewed the Social Concerns budget today for the fiscal year 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024:  Hope House receives $1,000/quarter for a total of $4,000; Wednesday workshop has spent $684.12 of $1,200 budget; Parish Charity has distributed $4,698.95 of assistance of their $10,000 budget; Social Concerns has spent $636.20 of their $1,400 budget.  

5.  Funeral Dinners, Compassion Meals & Kindness Meals: There were no funeral meals. In the past two months we have provided three compassion meals and 23 kindness meals.  Note:  Compassion meals are provided on a ‘as needed” basis to those parishioners that have had a surgery or other significant event that we can provide ease to them with cooking a meal while kindness meals are monthly for those parishioners that are homebound and/or in need of an assistance with a meal.​

6.  Ministry of Health and Spiritual Well Being – Jan Metz, Diane Richardson, Glenda Hinrichs, John Akscin visit and provide Holy Communion to those that are homebound.  This ministry is going well. If you know of anyone homebound in need of communion, please contact Dcn. Jim.  Those that need communion in a nursing home please contact Dcn. Paul.  

7.  Ministry for Protecting Life (Pregnancy Care Center) – Theresa Faber, Director of the Pregnancy Help Center, provided an update.  The 7 March 2024 chili cook-off made approximately $10,000 of that $8,500 was from Sponsorships, $1,220 from the dessert table, and $1,160 was taken at the door.  The Social Concerns Commission provided Theresa with a check for $770 that was taken from donations from our parish that participated at the chili cookoff.   With these funds, an ultrasound machine is being purchased for the Versailles location that is currently being remodeled to accommodate it.  The Versailles location served 29 ladies during February while the Camdenton location served 52. They are getting ready to begin the baby bottle drive. Our Lady of the Lake has asked for 100 bottles. Theresa said that they normally make about $50,000 during this drive. These Centers provide much needed classes to these new mothers. Classes are given on: Finances, Life Skills,and Parenting. They also aid those of low income to help pay for gas, rent, and utilities.    

8.  Ministry to the Community/Advent Tree 2024 (Patty and Stephanie) Plan to discuss the 2024 schedule along with an increase of gifts for Helping Hands, Stonebridge, and Ozark Rehab.  

9. Ministry of Hospitality and Fellowship (Welcoming New Parishioners) – Will host an annual Welcome Event for New Parishioners in October 2024.
