We need your help…

24 July 2022

Seventeenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of the Lake Church,

Beginning Saturday, 6 August 2022 and continuing through Sunday 31 July 2023, a count of those attending Sunday and Holy Day Masses will be taken in every parish throughout the diocese for future pastoral planning.  It will fall upon the Ministers of Hospitality and others of the parish to fulfill this task for the coming year in our participation for the Pastoral Plan as we prepare for future ministry and service in the Diocese of Jefferson City.

For some time, there has been a need for Ministers of Hospitality for our parish.  As your Pastor, I am requesting of you, if you are not serving your parish in a particular ministry, to consider serving your parish as a Minister of Hospitality.  Serving in this capacity, you are the first person one sees as he or she enters the church.  You are the one who welcomes them and shares the hospitality of the parish with others, especially our many visitors.  You are entrusted with collecting and bringing forth the offerings of the people to the priest.  And this year, the parish and I will be relying on you to assist us in counting those in attendance at the Sunday and Holy Day Masses.

To serve, one must have completed the VIRTUS training and be compliant with the Code of Conduct.  I refer you to the website of the diocese for all the information.  If you have any questions, you may contact Vicki Irsik or me at the Parish Office.  I ask that you pray about and discern service in this ministry so that together we might serve God’s people for the glory of His Kingdom.

Sincerely yours,

The Reverend Michael W. Penn
