Minutes for the Worship Commission Meeting October 28, 2025
Opening Prayer: Linda opened the meeting with a prayer.
Assistance:
Secretary: Alice read the minutes from the meeting on September
23rd. Corrections were made, and the minutes were approved.
Pastoral Council Meeting: The Worship Commission will wait for
all the CSR forms to be turned in. Stewardship will end December
31st. Safety plans should be in place. Msgr. Greg said that training
will take place mid-January. Date TBD.
● Movement of Fatima Statues Request: Patty McNally
discussed the proposal of moving the statues to the back of
the church, to a grotto area, where it would be more visible.
There is a company that is willing to move them at no charge!
There was a discussion about how the statues would be
secured, since the children use that area when entering the
church. There are two benches located in the front of the
church that could be moved to the grotto area. Patty will still
have to present the proposal to the Educational and Social
Concerns Commissions and the Parish Council. Joy Corwin
made a motion to move the statues. The motion was
seconded by Deacon Jim.
CSR Forms: When all the forms are in, they can be given to Joan.
The new volunteers should receive a phone call. Those who
volunteer to be a Eucharistic Minister must be commissioned by the
Bishop. This should be done during a specific ceremony.
Liturgical Support: We need a Lector chairperson. Ushers should
greet the parishioners at the doors; this will be covered during
training.
Holy Communion, Kathy Cotter: Kathy discussed the handling of
the chalices. It was suggested that the chalices be filled before
mass. Msgr. Greg agreed that would be fine. There was discussion
about the liturgical ministers praying together before mass.
Prayer and Devotion, Debbie Nolan: puts requests in her daily
emails. With personal approval, those names should be sent to
Debbie. The names for the Bulletin, please call the church office.
Music, Stacy Gier: Stacy is trying to encourage more people to join
the choir. She contacted the parents of the students in F.F.F. to
invite them to sing in the choir. Three members participated on
Sunday.
Art and Environment, Joy Corwin: Joy has contracted Stephany
Coen to paint a Divine Mercy painting for the church. The painting
will be done before Divine Mercy Sunday, and will be hung on
display in the church. The date for decorating the Altar for harvest
is October 29th. The date for decorating for Christmas is TBA. Joy
is also a member of the Sanctuary Renovation Committee. She has
been in contact with Fr. Dan Merz and will meet with him on 10/29.
There will be a professional design company, who will design the
project from the Architect’s renderings. There will be a meeting with
Msgr. Greg on 11/13 at 6 PM for discussion and questions about the
project in Bestgen Hall. All Committees are encouraged to attend.
This will be a Capital Project.
