Minutes of Worship Meeting, September 23, 2025
1. The meeting was opened with a prayer by Julie Mercurio.
2. Bringing back the “Precious Blood” set for the weekend of October 4-5. There was a discussion with questions about how the distribution procedure will work. Deacon Jim answered the questions, explaining that the Eucharistic Ministers who will offer the “Blood of Christ” will stand to the side, for those who want to receive It! They will also consume any remains left in the chalice!
3. Counting: The ushers will count everyone who enters the church for Mass during the month of October.
4. Leadership: In need of several Chairpersons to take over in October. Linda Ambrozi will be the new Chair with Pam Scherer as co-chair. Alice Hand will be Secretary.
a. All ushers and greeters should be at Church 30/40 minutes before Mass! We need more ushers and a chairperson to supervise. For safety reasons: There will be ongoing discussions in respect to locking the back door after Mass begins. No decisions. No decisions have been made at this time. 6 The North section of the church will be closed off on Oct. 4th.
b. Holy Communion: Kathy Cotter There was a lengthy discussion earlier regarding the distribution of the ‘Precious Blood’! Kathy mentioned that Msgr Greg would like lots of candles on the Altar for Christmas!
c. Prayer and Devotion; It was suggested that anyone with personal prayer requests, should contact Debbie Noland.
d. Music-Everyone is invited to join the choir. Contact Stacy Gier.
e. Art and Environment-Joy Corwin. Joy mentioned that the statue of Mary was repaired by Kathy Cotter and was moved into the Chapel and was placed on a new stand, built by Kathy as well. This was done for the “Queenship of Mary”! New banners were also purchased for this occasion. Joy said that there has been some interest in moving the Fatima Statues from the north side of the church to a more visible place on the campus. This will need more discussion in the future. This committee will need help when it comes to time to put up the Christmas decorations up on the north side of the church. It was suggested that this should start happening as early as October. Joy is also part of the committee working on the Altar Renovations! The plans are in motion and renderings are available. This all must be approved by the Diocese. Msgr. Greg is hoping to be able to start the project by October 2026. Funds will have to be raised for this project!
5. Training: Msgr Greg wants to wait until after Stewardship Push. Possibly November.
6. Calendar: Advent is a week after Thanksgiving. Help will be needed to put the new books in the pews.
7. Closing Prayer: Everyone prayed the “Hail Mary”.
8. Next Meeting: Tuesday, October 28th at 5:30 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Alice M. Hand
